About this position
Ready to stop pretending updating spreadsheets counts as "strategic marketing work"?
Let's be real: most marketing assistant jobs are glorified admin roles with little growth opportunity.
This is not that job.
The straight talk:
We're Markster – entrepreneurs helping B2B service businesses replace expensive failed sales hires with AI agents supervised by human experts. And we need someone who can help us execute the marketing systems that reach 100,000 founders with this solution.
What you might expect from a marketing assistant role:
- Coffee runs and calendar management
- Updating endless spreadsheets with no context
- Being the "copy-paste person" for campaigns
- Watching other people make decisions while you execute mindlessly
What you'll actually do with us:
- Keep complex marketing projects on track from strategy to execution
- Build and optimize funnels that convert founders tired of sales hiring drama
- Manage multi-channel campaigns targeting agency owners and consultants
- Work directly with founders and senior team members on real business impact
- Use AI and automation tools to multiply your effectiveness
Picture this as your future:
It's Wednesday morning. You start by checking the performance dashboard of three active campaigns targeting different founder segments. During the team's async check-in, you report that the "failed sales hire" campaign is converting 23% higher than projected and share your hypothesis about why. By mid-morning, you're building a new funnel sequence for agency founders interested in predictable revenue, integrating our CRM with email automation and landing page optimization. After lunch, you join the weekly Growth Lab where the team is testing a new approach to LinkedIn targeting. You get to implement the technical setup and track initial results. Before the day ends, you've coordinated the launch timeline for next week's case study campaign, ensuring all assets, sequences, and tracking are ready to go.
This isn't for you if:
- You want a predictable, low-responsibility position where you just follow orders
- You prefer being told exactly what to do without understanding the bigger picture
- You're not interested in how marketing systems actually drive business growth
- You're looking for traditional employee benefits and rigid structure
What you bring:
- 0-2+ years of marketing experience (including relevant projects or internships)
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Basic understanding of digital marketing funnels and campaign management
- Comfort with technology and eagerness to learn marketing automation tools
- Strong English communication skills and attention to detail
- A curious mind and entrepreneurial spirit
What we offer in return:
- Real mentorship from people who've built businesses, not just run campaigns
- Up to $18.50/hour, flexible part-time or full-time schedule (20-40 hours/week)
- 1099 contractor arrangement (you handle your own taxes)
- Quarterly team retreats (we fly you in)
- Remote-first, async-friendly work environment (US time zones)
- Access to cutting-edge marketing and AI tools before they hit mainstream
- Weekly Growth Labs to experiment with new approaches and learn constantly
- A clear path to grow into specialized marketing or operations leadership roles
Real talk:
This role will push you. You'll learn more about marketing systems, funnel optimization, and campaign management in 6 months than most marketing assistants learn in 2 years. Some days will be challenging as you juggle multiple projects and deadlines. But you'll never be bored, you'll never stop learning, and you'll never be just "the assistant."
You'll be the person who keeps our mission-critical marketing engine running smoothly while we help founders escape the nightmare of bad sales hires.
Is that what you're looking for? Then let's talk.
Requirements:
- 0-2+ years of marketing experience (internships and relevant projects count)
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Basic understanding of digital marketing funnels and campaign workflows
- Comfort with technology and marketing automation platforms
- Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with flexible schedule
- US-based (any time zone, most team collaboration happens EST business hours)
- Comfortable with 1099 contractor status (handling own taxes)
- Genuine interest in learning marketing systems and business operations
- Available 20-40 hours per week with scheduling flexibility
